Enercity Erneuerbare has signed a strategic partnership with German turbine manufacturer Enercon for the supply, installation and servicing of approximately 100 onshore wind turbines across Germany, in a deal valued at up to €800 million, the companies said on Thursday.
The two-year agreement, which includes an option to extend, follows a competitive tender process launched by Enercity Erneuerbare, a subsidiary of regional utility Enercity. The contract also covers optional infrastructure services, including substation construction.
“Ambitious growth and expansion targets can be realised even more efficiently with strong partners,” said Ralf Nietiet and Daniel Müller, managing directors of Enercity Erneuerbare. “With Enercon, we ensure reliable access to high-quality technology within a contractually defined timeframe.”
More than 30 turbines are scheduled for delivery under the contract in 2025. Both companies are headquartered in Lower Saxony and view the deal as a step forward in strengthening the regional energy sector.
Enercon’s regional head for central and northern Europe, Benjamin Seifert, said the agreement comes amid growing activity in the domestic wind market. “The transfer of building permits to project implementation is increasing,” he said. “Successful projects depend on early and agile cooperation. The drafting of this agreement and the first implementation steps have shown a very constructive relationship between our companies.”
Enercity chief executive Aurélie Alemany said the partnership would have economic benefits beyond the energy sector. “Our partnership is a positive signal for the German wind industry and the regional economy,” she said. “Wind energy creates added value—especially at our company, production and wind sites.”
The agreement underscores ongoing momentum in Germany’s onshore wind sector, as developers and manufacturers look to accelerate deployment in support of national energy and climate targets.
