Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured two new orders in Italy totalling 127 megawatts (MW), with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2026, the company said on Friday.
The larger of the two contracts, a 95MW order from Dolomiti Energia Group and IVPC Group, includes 19 turbines. Fourteen of the units will be V136-4.5MW models, while the remaining five will be V162-6.4MW turbines. The deal also includes a long-term service agreement.
Turbine deliveries for the project are set for the second quarter of 2026, with commissioning expected in the final quarter of the year.
The second order, placed by an undisclosed client, is for five V162-6.4MW turbines with a combined capacity of 32MW. This contract includes a 25-year service agreement. Deliveries are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, with commissioning to follow in the third quarter.
Both orders are part of Vestas’ second-quarter intake.
“These orders reinforce our presence in the Italian market and demonstrate continued demand for our EnVentus platform,” a Vestas spokesperson said. “We look forward to supporting our customers in delivering clean energy through reliable, high-performance technology.”
Italy continues to play a role in Europe’s renewable energy transition, with wind energy representing a key component of the country’s decarbonisation strategy.
