Offshore energy services firm Tekmar Group has been awarded a contract to supply specialist grouting services for the 1.1 gigawatt (GW) Inch Cape offshore wind project, located off Scotland’s east coast.
The contract was granted by Charles Brand, the civil engineering contractor overseeing the landfall works for the project. Grouting plays a critical role in the stability of subsea foundations, and Tekmar’s technology will support the reliable installation of key offshore infrastructure.
“This contract win marks another step in our strategy to broaden Tekmar’s offshore wind service offering, particularly in grouting – an area of increasing strategic importance for the Group,” said Tekmar chief executive Richard Turner. “We are delighted to be supporting Charles Brand on a nationally significant project like Inch Cape, and we look forward to safe and successful delivery later this year.”
Operations under the contract are expected to begin in September 2025. The award follows recent investment by Tekmar aimed at expanding its subsea structural services both in the UK and internationally.
The Inch Cape offshore wind farm, owned jointly by ESB and Red Rock Renewables through their 50:50 joint venture Inch Cape Offshore Wind Limited, will comprise 72 turbines located approximately 15km off the Angus coast. Once operational, the project is expected to generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than half of Scotland’s homes.
