Ayesa Polska has signed an agreement to provide investor supervision for the offshore segment of the Baltica 2 wind farm, one of the largest offshore wind developments planned in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea, project partners announced on Thursday.
The 1.5-gigawatt (GW) wind farm is being developed jointly by Polish utility PGE and Danish energy company Ørsted. Once complete, it will consist of 107 turbines rated at 14 megawatts (MW) each, spread across an area of approximately 190 square kilometres. The nearest turbine will be located about 40 kilometres from the shore.
Ayesa Polska’s role will cover comprehensive investor supervision across all offshore elements of the project, including the installation of wind turbines, foundations, export cables, and four offshore transformer stations.
“For its role in the project, Ayesa Polska will ensure investor supervision over the entire offshore part of the project,” the developers said in a joint statement.
In March, consultancy firm ABL was contracted by PGE and Ørsted to provide marine warranty survey services related to the transportation and installation of the turbines, further supporting the project’s offshore construction phase.
The full commissioning of Baltica 2 is targeted for completion by the end of 2027. The wind farm is part of Poland’s broader energy strategy to increase its share of renewable energy and reduce dependency on fossil fuels.
