The deal covers the delivery of more than 6,800 1P trackers for the CSF Illa solar plant, which is under construction in La Joya, Arequipa. Once completed, it will be the largest solar project in Peru and one of the largest in Latin America, according to the companies.
“This agreement marks a major milestone for us, strengthening our commitment to decarbonisation and clean energy generation in a country where we’ve operated for over 17 years,” said Ernesto Oliver, chief executive of Inver Renewable Management.
Solar Steel, which has been active in the Peruvian market since 2014, said the plant would use its latest 1P tracker configuration, designed to maximise efficiency and solar capture. The trackers will support more than 740,000 high-power modules in a region with some of the highest solar irradiation levels globally.
The CSF Illa project is expected to generate approximately 1.2 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity annually, which the company said would represent around 2.5% of Peru’s total electricity production.
“At the same time, it’s a key milestone for the country and reinforces the family-driven presence both Enhol and Gonvarri Industries bring to the solar sector,” said Christopher Atassi, chief executive of Gonvarri Solar Steel. “We share common values, and it’s rewarding to see them endure over the years.”
The facility is expected to operate for at least 30 years. It has already received definitive generation and transmission concessions from Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines, along with environmental certification.
Both companies stated they will implement corporate social responsibility programmes as part of the project, with a focus on regional development and long-term environmental stewardship.
