Engineering firm Jörss – Blunck – Ordemann (JBO) has been awarded two contracts to provide foundation design services for offshore wind projects located in Germany’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), the company said in a statement.
Under the agreement with renewable energy investor Luxcara, JBO will deliver front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed foundation design for the 270-megawatt Waterkant offshore wind project. In addition, the Hamburg-based company will act as geotechnical expert and foundation designer for FEED and detailed design work at the larger 1.5-gigawatt Waterekke project.
“With our in-house team of geotechnical and structural specialists, JBO offers high-performance, site-specific foundation solutions,” the company said. “These two projects mark another milestone in our commitment to enabling the energy transition through technical excellence and offshore expertise.”
The projects are part of ongoing efforts to expand Germany’s offshore wind capacity as the country transitions toward renewable energy sources. No financial details were disclosed.
