Polish engineering firm P&Q has signed a contract with Ocean Winds Polska to provide high-voltage electrical infrastructure for the BC-Wind offshore wind project, which is expected to have a capacity of up to 500 megawatts.
The agreement includes the design, supply, construction, installation, and commissioning of a 400/275kV offshore substation and a 400kV cable connection. The infrastructure will link the wind farm to the newly developed PSE SE Choczewo grid substation, establishing a key part of the project’s export route.
“This contract strengthens our position in Poland’s offshore wind supply chain and confirms our growing role in the energy transition,” P&Q said in a statement.
The company added that the contract aligns with its strategy to expand its renewables portfolio and enhance local content in Poland’s offshore wind sector. “We are committed to supporting Poland’s clean energy ambitions through local expertise and delivery,” the firm said.
Ocean Winds Polska, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, is developing the BC-Wind project in the Baltic Sea as part of Poland’s efforts to scale up renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
