PNE Group has received approval for the construction of two onshore wind farms and a ground-mounted solar plant in Germany, with a combined capacity of approximately 185 megawatts (MW). The projects are expected to generate enough electricity to power 73,000 three-person households annually.
The approved developments include the Herzhausen wind farm in central Hesse, which will feature six wind turbines with a nominal output of 5.5MW each, bringing the total capacity to 33MW. In northern Hesse, the Welsche-Lied wind farm will consist of four turbines, including three 7.2MW units and one 6.2MW turbine, for a total capacity of 27.8MW.
Additionally, PNE will build the Altlandsberg photovoltaic power plant in Brandenburg, which will have a total rated output of approximately 124MWp.
Heiko Wuttke, Chief Executive of PNE, highlighted the significance of the new approvals: “The licences received are an important step for our further growth. They give us the opportunity to further expand our own generation portfolio.”
The green-lighting of these projects marks an important milestone in PNE’s strategy to increase its renewable energy portfolio, contributing to Germany’s energy transition goals.
