Scottish clean energy developer ILI Group has announced the release of a second tranche of battery storage projects, totaling 350MW. The new portfolio consists of five utility-scale battery storage sites spread across key areas in Scotland, including Highland, North Ayrshire, Perth & Kinross, and West Lothian.

All of the projects in this new batch have secured land rights and are either fully consented or expected to gain planning consent by May. The sites also meet the technical and delivery criteria set out under the CP30 framework, which outlines the key requirements for connecting to the national grid. The connection dates for the projects range from 2026 to 2028, and they have either pre-qualified or are highly likely to receive grid acceptance under Gate 2.

Mark Wilson, CEO of ILI Group, commented: “This second tranche builds on the momentum of our Q1 Gate 2-ready portfolio. With CP30 setting a clearer framework for delivery, we’ve ensured this next batch of projects is equally well-positioned to move forward at pace.”

ILI Group has already made significant strides in the clean energy sector, having sold over 650MW of battery storage projects to date. Additionally, the company is behind 2.5GW of pumped storage hydro projects, including the 500MW Loch na Cathrach project, which was sold to Statkraft in 2023.
