European Energy has signed two agreements to sell a portfolio of six operational wind farms in Poland to Enea. The wind farms, located in the West Pomeranian region, have a total installed capacity of 83.5MW. The projects were commissioned between 2021 and 2023 and feature turbines from Siemens Gamesa, GE, and Nordex.

Olga Sypula, country manager for Poland at European Energy, commented on the deal, stating, “These agreements are the result of close collaboration and long-term planning within our activities in Poland. Our role in Poland goes far beyond project development. We are building a portfolio that delivers not only renewable power, but also long-term value to communities, investors, the national energy system, and energy security.”

European Energy has been actively engaged in local initiatives in the West Pomeranian region, including infrastructure upgrades, contributions to cultural and educational events, and donations to local services like fire brigades and healthcare facilities.

The company, which has been active in Poland since 2006, is expanding its presence through utility-scale solar, onshore wind, and battery storage projects. Additionally, it is exploring opportunities in green hydrogen and green fuel production, in line with Poland's energy transition goals.

Jens-Peter Zink, deputy chief executive of European Energy, emphasized the strategic significance of the sale, saying, “These agreements support our business strategy and allow us to reinvest in new greenfield developments in Poland. Poland is a core market for us, and we are continuing to scale up our development pipeline across wind, solar, and Power-to-X – now also including a significant battery portfolio.”

European Energy has a development pipeline in Poland that exceeds 5GW and remains committed to expanding its renewable energy projects in the country.
