Engineering and project services company Kent has been awarded a place on the UK government’s Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) Energy, Net Zero and Power Systems (ENZPS) framework. The contract, valued at up to £250 million, will see Kent provide strategic advice, engineering expertise, project management, and environmental guidance to support the UK’s transition to net zero.
The ENZPS framework, which runs for an initial two-year term with an option for a two-year extension, will enable Kent to leverage its digital tools and data-driven solutions to assist in shaping and implementing policies, programmes, and projects that accelerate the UK’s energy transition.
Kent Consulting managing director, Les Newman, expressed enthusiasm for the award: “We are delighted to have been selected to support DESNZ in advancing the UK’s energy transition. This award reinforces our expertise in delivering innovative, sustainable solutions across the energy sector.”
He added, “Our team is committed to providing strategic, integrated support that will drive meaningful progress towards the UK’s net-zero ambitions.”
Originally founded in Ireland in 1919 as a small family business, Kent has grown into a global operation with a workforce of 13,000. The company brings significant experience in offshore wind, low carbon solutions, and oil and gas, positioning it well to support the UK government in navigating the challenges and opportunities of decarbonisation.
Kent will work closely with government agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to optimize energy systems, enhance sustainability, and ensure energy security in the transition to a low-carbon future.
