Polish renewable energy company RPower has signed its first long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Romania, securing the sale of 357GWh of green energy from its photovoltaic projects in the country. The contract, which runs from 2026 to 2036, marks a significant milestone in RPower's expansion into the European renewable energy market.
The agreement, signed with a local trading company, ensures the supply of renewable electricity from RPower's solar energy projects in Romania. Over the course of the 10-year deal, the company expects to deliver a total of 357GWh of green energy.
RPower's chief commercial officer, Rafal Hajduk, emphasized the importance of the deal in the company's international growth strategy. “Signing a PPA agreement in Romania is proof of the effectiveness of our business model in international markets,” he said. “Romania is becoming an increasingly important market for us, and this agreement provides a solid foundation for further sustainable growth in the region.”
Hajduk also highlighted the company's experience in Poland, where RPower is a leader in the photovoltaic sector, as a key factor in its success in expanding into other European markets. “Our experience in the Polish market allows us to successfully implement similar projects in other European countries,” he added.
The PPA underscores Romania's growing role in the European renewable energy sector and RPower's commitment to expanding its presence in the region.
