Chinese manufacturer Sany has secured its first offshore wind turbine order, winning a tender to supply Guangdong Energy Group’s 200MW Jieyang Shibeishan offshore wind project.
The project will feature 14 offshore wind turbines, each with a capacity of 13.6MW, as well as one 10MW unit, all manufactured by Sany. This marks a significant step for the company as it enters the offshore wind sector.
Sany stated, “This milestone project represents SANY’s first batch-commercialization order for offshore wind turbines in the large-megawatt era, marking the company’s official entry into a new phase where our offshore and onshore wind power businesses develop in parallel.”
The contract reflects Sany’s growing commitment to renewable energy, as the company expands its wind turbine production to meet the growing demand for clean energy solutions.
