Exus Renewables has entered into a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google to supply renewable energy from the Cascante wind project in Navarra, Spain. The agreement will provide Google’s Spanish operations with 35 MW of electricity from the 51 MW Cascante wind farm.
Laurent Jouvin, Director of Operations and Energy Management at Exus Renewables, stated, “Exus Renewables and Google are deeply committed to decarbonising Europe’s economy. Through this partnership, we will be able to fast-track Spain’s renewable energy transition and enable Google to power its operations with clean, sustainable energy while mitigating energy price volatility.”
The PPA is aligned with Google’s 24/7 carbon-free energy goals, supporting the company’s commitment to running its operations on clean energy around the clock. The agreement was facilitated through LEAP (LevelTen Energy’s Accelerated Process), a collaboration between Google and LevelTen Energy designed to streamline the sourcing and execution of clean energy PPAs.
“As we advance our goal to operate on clean energy every hour of every day by 2030, we are always looking for opportunities to accelerate the delivery of new affordable, reliable, clean power to the grid,” said Will Conkling, Director of Energy Commercial Structuring at Google. He added, “Using our scalable procurement approach, we’ve been able to collaborate efficiently with Exus Renewables and support our 24/7 carbon-free energy progress in Spain.”
