Enercon has secured an order to supply and install 13 wind turbines for a community project in Dardesheim, located in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The contract, signed with BürgerEnergiepark Druiberg, involves the delivery of E-160 EP5 turbines, with a total capacity of approximately 72 MW.

The turbines will be installed in the border area of the municipalities of Stadt Osterwieck and EHG Huy in the Harz region. The project marks a continuation of a longstanding collaboration between Enercon and BürgerEnergiepark Druiberg.

Enercon's E-160 EP5 turbines, which are based on the EP5 platform, are designed for medium to low wind conditions and feature a rotor diameter of 160 meters. Benjamin Seifert, Enercon's regional head for central and northern Europe, expressed his satisfaction with the deal, stating, “We are very pleased that we have once again been able to convince a longstanding customer. The close cooperation with BürgerEnergiepark Druiberg and the majority participation of local citizens in this wind farm ensures high regional approval and strong anchoring of the project in the population.”

The project, which involves significant local participation, will follow the “Guidelines for Fair Wind Power Planning” established by the host municipalities, which prioritize local value creation and citizen involvement. Approximately 30 citizens and municipal representatives attended the contract signing in Magdeburg.

Dardesheim is already benefiting from renewable energy through the Druibergstrom wind farm, which supplies energy to local residents and businesses. Over two-thirds of the area's electricity customers currently receive their power directly from this regional wind farm.

This new project reinforces the growing trend of community-driven renewable energy initiatives in Germany.
