Iberdrola and Air Liquide have signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) under which Iberdrola will supply Air Liquide with green electricity generated from 25 MW of wind farms located in northern Spain. The energy, sourced from three onshore wind projects, will support Air Liquide’s operations in Spain and Portugal.
This agreement enables Air Liquide to continue advancing its sustainable solutions for industrial gas supply while also helping reduce its carbon footprint.
Sergio Hernández de Deza, Iberdrola’s vice-president of global corporate customers and PPA, commented, “Iberdrola and Air Liquide share a commitment to offer a cleaner and more competitive future. Companies have an increasingly important role to play in ensuring that the energy transition and decarbonisation of the industrial sector continues to move apace. Agreements like this are critical to supporting the new renewable energy capacity that is being built.
Iberdrola has been offering PPA proposals for over a decade, providing renewable energy from both onshore and offshore wind projects, as well as solar parks.
