manufacturer Vestas has opened a new corporate office in Houston, Texas, further establishing its presence in the U.S. energy market. The company currently employs over 500 people in the state, with Texas being a key location for its operations.

Laura Beane, President of Vestas North America, emphasized the strategic importance of the new location. “Houston is the ideal location to expand our office operations in the US due to its central proximity to many of our wind projects, customers, and suppliers,” Beane said. She added, “Producing home-grown energy, powered by the hard work of Americans nationwide, is critically important, and we look forward to increasing our presence in Texas and continuing to provide generational jobs to Americans across the state.”

Texas, the leading state for wind energy capacity and production in the U.S., accounted for 28% of the nation's wind-sourced electricity in 2024. Vestas has contributed significantly to this growth, having installed more than 3,500 turbines in the state, which help power nearly 7 million homes.

Houston Mayor John Whitmire welcomed Vestas' expansion, describing it as an “important achievement” for the city. “The company's decision to establish a new corporate office underscores our city's commitment to sustainable energy and promises to provide quality jobs and economic growth,” Whitmire said. “We are excited to support Vestas' mission to drive innovation in renewable energy and look forward to a prosperous partnership that benefits our community.”

With the addition of this office in Houston, Vestas' U.S. operations will now span four time zones. The company also services 315 wind farms across 31 states, further solidifying its role in the country's renewable energy sector.
