Renewable energy consultancy and service provider Natural Power has played a key role in securing financing for the Romazières wind farm in France. The company provided technical due diligence and construction monitoring on behalf of BPCE Energeco, the lender, to facilitate the completion of project financing for the 21.6 MW wind farm.
The project, located in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region of western France, is being developed by Energiter, formerly known as Eurocape. It consists of six wind turbine generators.
Fabien Vacher, Construction Director at Natural Power, commented, “The experience of our French construction team in the balance of plant phase enabled us to focus on the key milestones within our lender's technical adviser role. In addition, the robust due diligence performed internally, combined with our close client collaboration, will strengthen the successful delivery of this project.”
The technical due diligence provided by Natural Power included detailed contract reviews, covering construction contracts, turbine supply agreements, balance of plant (BoP) contracts, operation and maintenance (O&M) agreements, grid connection agreements, asset management agreements (AMA), and a review of the construction schedule. The consultancy also assessed routes to market, including Contract for Difference and aggregation contracts, and reviewed technical inputs in the project's financial model.
Natural Power had previously conducted an independent Energy Yield Analysis (EYA) for the project, and is currently updating this analysis as part of another mandate for the wind farm.
