Erova Energy Signs Power Purchase Agreement with CareyGlass for Renewable Energy from Curraghgraigue Wind Farm

Erova Energy has signed a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Irish manufacturer CareyGlass, committing to supply renewable electricity from the Curraghgraigue , located outside Nenagh.

Under the agreement, Erova Energy will provide CareyGlass with clean electricity generated by the wind farm, which aims to support the company's sustainability goals.

Baden Powell, managing director of Curraghgraigue Wind Farm, emphasized the environmental benefits of the deal, stating: “By supplying clean, renewable wind energy to large energy user CareyGlass, we are not only contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions but also aiding businesses in the pursuit of more efficient and responsible energy use.” Powell added that the 30-year commitment to generating green electricity would offer significant long-term environmental and economic benefits. “It is immensely rewarding to see it being utilised so close to its source, demonstrating the tangible benefits of our dedication and innovation.”

Danny Mills, head of Erova Supply, also expressed support for the partnership, highlighting its role in corporate decarbonization efforts. “This partnership demonstrates how large corporate businesses can take direct action to decarbonise their operations while securing price stability,” Mills said. “We are delighted to support CareyGlass as part of their sustainability journey and contribute to Ireland's renewable energy future.”

The deal is part of CareyGlass' broader efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. Sinead Gleeson, financial controller at CareyGlass, noted, “By entering our second CPPA for renewable energy, we are ensuring that we are playing our part to reduce emissions with another source of renewable electricity, helping achieve our sustainability goals.”

Exemplar Energy from Cork provided support to CareyGlass during the PPA process.
