Deutsche WindGuard Consulting has appointed Benjamin Ahrens as managing director, where he will work alongside co-founder and managing director Axel Albers. Ahrens brings a wealth of experience from his previous role at Enercon, where he contributed to project management, power curve measurements, and prototype testing within the company’s research and development department.

Ahrens joined Enercon in 2019 and was later appointed deputy manager in 2021. As head of Enercon’s measurement equipment workshop, he spearheaded a significant reorganization of the department in January 2023. His expertise in these areas will be pivotal as he takes on his new role at Deutsche WindGuard Consulting, an accredited testing and calibration laboratory with a reputation for driving industry innovation and standards.

“We were able to encourage a highly motivated and excellently qualified expert from within our own team to accept responsibility as a Managing Director,” said Axel Albers, who co-founded Deutsche WindGuard. “Benjamin Ahrens brings a level of expertise that will strengthen our leadership and help guide the company into its next phase.”

Ahrens, reflecting on his new position, highlighted his commitment to further enhancing the company’s services and aligning them more closely with customers’ needs. “One of our major goals for the coming years is to further enhance our services and align them even closer to our customers’ requirements, while at the same time equipping ourselves for the constantly changing demands of the market,” he said.

Looking forward, Deutsche WindGuard plans to launch new LiDAR calibration sites in 2025 and expand its cooperation with partners in the Asian-Australian market, positioning the company to meet the growing demands of the wind energy sector globally.
