Cadeler has expanded its fleet with the delivery of the Wind Maker, a new jack-up wind turbine installation vessel, marking a significant milestone in the company's strategic fleet expansion. Delivered within budget, Wind Maker is now the sixth vessel in Cadeler's portfolio dedicated to offshore wind installation, operations, and maintenance.
The vessel was officially named in a ceremony held earlier this week at the Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in Korea, attended by Cadeler executives and key stakeholders. Wind Maker is the first of two M-class wind installation vessels in Cadeler's new-build portfolio, designed to support the deployment of next-generation offshore wind turbines.
The second vessel in the series, Wind Mover, is slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025. Both vessels are engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions and operate in some of the most challenging offshore wind installation environments worldwide. Equipped with a high-capacity main crane, Wind Maker is designed to handle some of the heaviest foundations and wind turbine components safely and efficiently.
Wind Maker can operate in water depths of up to 65 meters, while maintaining its position above sea level during installation and maintenance activities. The vessel is also equipped with DP2 dynamic positioning technology, enabling fast, safe, and energy-efficient transit and positioning between locations.
Cadeler CEO Mikkel Gleerup described the delivery of Wind Maker as a “significant achievement in our strategic fleet expansion,” adding that the vessel is already contracted for deployment immediately after delivery. “Wind Maker is already contracted for deployment immediately after its delivery and she and her sister vessel have secured a pipeline of exciting wind farm projects,” he said. “As a reliable partner in the offshore wind industry, our success depends on our ability to adapt and meet the evolving demands of our clients, both today and in the years to come. Wind Maker embodies this commitment and is a testament to the dedication of the Cadeler team, our shipyard, and the collaboration we have had with our strategic partners.
