The Nordex Group has announced a notable increase in its order intake for 2024, with a 13% rise to a total of 8,336 MW, equivalent to 1,452 wind turbines. This compares to 7,358 MW and 1,270 turbines in 2023.
The company also highlighted a particularly strong fourth quarter, where customers ordered 547 wind turbines, up from 420 turbines in the same period of the previous year, resulting in a total volume of 3,253 MW—an increase of nearly 32% from 2,466 MW in Q4 2023.
The average sales price (ASP) per megawatt of capacity also saw an improvement, rising to €0.89 million per MW in Q4, from €0.84 million per MW in the same quarter last year.
Europe continued to be the largest market for Nordex, with 89% of the total order volume (in MW) coming from the region in Q4 2024. In comparison, the North American market, which includes Canada, accounted for approximately 11% of orders. For the entire year, Europe represented 79% of the company's order intake, with significant orders from countries including Germany, Türkiye, and Canada.
Nordex received orders from 24 countries in 2024, with total orders reaching an average sales price of €0.90 million per MW, up from €0.84 million per MW in 2023.
José Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex, commented on the company's performance, stating: “I am very pleased that the order intake momentum, especially in the final weeks of the year, has demonstrated our ability to offer a highly competitive product portfolio to our customers.” He added, “Numerous orders from our core markets in Europe, along with significant orders from North America, have contributed to a very solid order backlog at stable prices by the end of the year.
Blanco expressed confidence in the company's prospects for 2025, stating, “Nordex is well positioned for the future, and I expect that, with a stable macroeconomic environment, we will continue to see strong demand for our products in 2025.
