The final shipment of transition piece-less monopiles for RWE's 1,100MW Thor wind project has left Dajin Heavy Industry's facility in Penglai, . Each of the 10 monopiles, which each weigh over 1,100 tons, is now en route to the port of Eemshaven in the Netherlands. The monopiles will be delivered from the Penglai facility in Yantai city, Shandong province.

With this final shipment, Dajin Heavy Industry will have fulfilled its contract to deliver 36 transition piece-less monopiles for the Thor project, which is located off the coast of Denmark.

The delivery arrives in time for offshore installation work, which is set to begin in the coming months. RWE secured a key permit for the Thor project in October 2024 from the Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen), enabling offshore construction to proceed.

The Thor offshore wind project is expected to contribute significantly to RWE's renewable energy capacity, with construction activities advancing as planned.
