ProCon has been awarded a contract by Smulders to carry out electrical and instrumentation (E&I) work for Shell and Eneco's 760-megawatt Hollandse Kust (west) site VI offshore wind project. The scope of work includes pre-assembly, outfitting, testing, and cold commissioning of 52 internal suspended platforms and 52 external platforms for the project's foundations.
The work will take place at Smulders' facilities in Hoboken and Balen, Belgium, with the project scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025. ProCon emphasized that the contract reflects the company's “long-standing collaboration and good cooperation” with Smulders.
The Hollandse Kust (west) site VI project, located 53 kilometers off the Dutch coast from IJmuiden, will provide approximately 3% of the Netherlands' current electricity demand once completed.
