SBM Offshore has reached an agreement to sell all of its shares in floating wind developer Floventis Energy to Cierco Energy. The move marks the end of SBM Offshore's involvement in the company, following its strategic partnership with Floventis.
In a statement, SBM Offshore highlighted the valuable knowledge it gained through its collaboration with Floventis and expressed pride in contributing to the advancement of pioneering floating wind projects. “SBM Offshore remains optimistic about the vast potential for sustainable growth of the floating wind sector and is concentrating its efforts on larger-scale projects,” the company added.
Floventis Energy has been involved in key floating wind initiatives, including the Llyr 1 project in the Celtic Sea and the Cademo project near Santa Barbara County, California. SBM Offshore noted, “We are proud to have contributed to the advancement of these pioneering projects,” underscoring the significance of the partnership in the evolving floating wind industry.
