Global wind investor and developer Reventus Power has announced the appointment of Rasmus Wandrup as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Wandrup brings over two decades of experience in marine engineering and construction, having held senior technical roles at leading companies such as Siemens Wind Power, Vattenfall, K2 , and Synera .

Wandrup's career highlights include key contributions to offshore wind projects such as the 372MW Formosa 2 wind farm in Taiwan, as well as awards for Formosa 4 and 6. He was also involved in the successful operation of Formosa 1. Additionally, Wandrup played a pivotal role in the first floating wind project, Scotland's Hywind, in 2009, and the first subsidy-free offshore wind farm, the Netherlands' Hollandse Kust.

In his new role at Reventus Power, Wandrup will oversee technical due diligence, engineering, construction, project delivery, and asset management for the company's expanding offshore wind portfolio. Reventus Power, which became the global offshore wind platform for CPP Investments in April 2024, has significantly increased the size of its global team.

Wandrup himself acknowledged the challenges facing the offshore wind industry, noting that while the sector is encountering technical and economic difficulties, it also presents significant long-term growth potential. “It is well-noted that the global offshore wind industry is experiencing some technical and economic challenges at present, but it is also at the foothills of an exceptional long-term growth opportunity,” Wandrup said. “Reventus Power has been shaped to thrive in this environment and I'm extremely excited to join the team.
