Briggs Marine has been awarded a three-year contract to provide crew transfer vessel (CTV) services to the Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind farm, a 450MW project located in the Firth of Forth off Scotland.
Under the agreement, Briggs will deploy its Forth Engineer vessel to support the transition of the EDF Renewables UK and ESB-owned wind farm from construction to operations and maintenance. The 26-meter Damen 2610 CTV will transfer technicians and equipment between NnG's base in Eyemouth and the offshore site.
The Forth Engineer can transport up to 12 technicians at a time and is equipped to carry cargo, fuel, and specialized tools. The vessel also offers flexibility with capabilities for both push-on transfers to offshore structures and boat-to-boat operations.
Briggs Marine Director of Port and Marine Services Iain Ross commented: “Over the last three years, Briggs Marine has demonstrated its ability to provide services with safety at the core, offering NnG practical solutions in challenging environments. We are delighted to continue supporting the wind farm into its next phase.”
The vessel may also use Briggs' Forth Estuary facility in Burntisland, where the company is headquartered.
Neart na Gaoithe Technical Director John Penman noted the longstanding collaboration with Briggs Marine:
“We have worked with Briggs for a number of years now and are very pleased that this partnership will continue as the project transitions from its construction phase to operation.”
The contract underscores Briggs Marine's expertise in supporting offshore wind projects and its ongoing commitment to providing safe and efficient marine services.
