China Energy Engineering Group Co Ltd (Energy China) has been appointed as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the Terra Solar Project in the Philippines.
The project aims to install 3.5 GWp of solar capacity coupled with a 4.5-GWh battery energy storage system (BESS), making it the world’s largest contiguous solar and battery plant.
Energy China will oversee the turnkey delivery, covering procurement, design, engineering, permitting, manufacturing, testing, and logistics.
Its responsibilities include on-site delivery, warranty support, and specialized training for local teams. Additionally, the company will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the solar and storage systems into the national grid.
Located on Luzon Island, approximately 100 kilometers from Manila, the Terra Solar project spans 3,500 hectares. The development is spearheaded by Terra Solar Philippines Inc (TSPI), a unit of Solar Philippines New Energy Corp. UK-based investment firm Actis joined the initiative as an investor in September 2024.
