SA, a Polish installer and part of the Group, has commenced the second phase of a (PV) farm at Poznan's factory in Wrzesnia, Poland.

The new 3.1 MW expansion follows the completion of a 13.2 MW first phase earlier this year, bringing the total capacity of the facility to over 16 MW.

The two solar farms, covering an area equivalent to 32 football fields, are expected to supply more than 20% of the electricity needed for the vehicle production at the factory, offering significant cost savings. The second phase installation is progressing with the mounting system already in place, and the assembly of over 5,300 PV modules is set to begin soon on 4.3 hectares of land.

Quanta Energy completed the first phase in just six months, installing 22,800 PV modules. All Volkswagen Poznan factories are now powered by 100% renewable energy, which, until recently, was supplied by external vendors.

The company has expanded its efforts to generate energy independently, starting with the 2-MW facility and moving forward with plans for additional projects, including a 6.5-MW rooftop installation and wind turbines.

Quanta Energy, specializing in PV installations for industrial and logistics sectors, now has more than 200 MW of projects either completed or under construction.
