Ampyr Energy USA has signed long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Duke Energy for two utility-scale solar projects in South Carolina, totaling 195MWp. One of the projects includes a four-hour energy storage component, enhancing its reliability and grid integration.
The agreements mark a significant step in Ampyr Energy USA's expansion within the U.S. renewable energy market, particularly in the Southeast. Both projects are set to create a substantial number of construction jobs and contribute to the local tax base over their operational lifespan of more than 30 years.
“These projects represent two of the more advanced stage projects in our portfolio, and once operational, will supply electricity to power about 30,000 homes in South Carolina,” said Sumeet Bidani, Chief Development Officer of Ampyr Energy USA.
Bidani emphasized the company's dual commitment to clean energy and economic growth, stating, “Ampyr Energy USA is proud to be a part of the clean energy transition in the U.S. and contribute towards the economic growth of the local communities in which we operate, while providing clean and reliable energy.”
The projects align with Ampyr Energy USA's broader strategy to strengthen its renewable energy pipeline across various regions in the U.S. and demonstrate its focus on sustainability and regional development.
