has successfully installed the first of eight turbines at its 48-MW Pecineaga wind farm project in Constanta County, .

The turbine, an SG 6.6-170 model, is the largest wind turbine generator ever installed in the country. With the first turbine in place, the wind farm is on track for full operation by 2025.

Once completed, the Pecineaga wind farm is expected to generate approximately 176,000 MWh of electricity annually, enough to power up to 48,000 homes.

The 6.6-MW turbines, each featuring a rotor diameter of 170 meters, are optimized for low wind conditions, making them well-suited for the local environment.

Pecineaga is Eurowind Energy's largest wind project in Romania. Construction activities began in July 2023, and the company secured a EUR 65.3 million loan from Erste Group and Banca Comerciala Romana in April 2024 to support the project's development.
