Vestas has suspended operations at its Halkirk 2 wind project in Alberta, Canada, following a nacelle detachment during installation work earlier this month.
The incident occurred on 8 November 2024 at the site, where a V150-4.5 MW Mk3f wind turbine was being installed.
In a statement, Vestas confirmed that all site personnel were safe and accounted for, with no injuries reported. The site has been secured, and investigations into the cause of the nacelle detachment are ongoing.
Vestas added that once the turbine is deemed safe to access, the company will collaborate with its customer and construction partner to determine the root cause of the incident.
