Ramboll has formally closed its acquisition of K2 Management, integrating the latter into the Ramboll Group following regulatory approvals. The move strengthens Ramboll's capabilities in renewable energy consulting, with K2 Management's experience in offshore and onshore wind as well as solar.
Tim Fischer, Director of Ramboll's global Wind division, commented, “In the coming months, we will start to align our business practices closer, and work to integrate the best from each of us to ensure that our team continues to provide the high-quality services our clients and stakeholders know and respect us for.” He noted that the integration aims to form a fully operational combined global division by mid-2025.
K2 Management co-founder Lars K Hammershøj emphasized the added benefits, saying, “From now on we will be able to provide our clients with a full-service offering within offshore and onshore wind as well as solar, with increased resources to take on large wind projects and a strong global presence. Furthermore, due to synergies with different parts of the Ramboll organization, we will be able to offer new services within the field of wind, renewable energies, and energy systems.”
Ramboll's wind division has grown rapidly in recent years, with an average annual growth rate of 25%, expanding into markets including the U.S., Poland, Japan, and Australia. With the addition of K2 Management, Ramboll's wind arm now boasts over 900 experts across 20 countries, with new local presences in Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, and Portugal, and remains on track to reach over 1,000 specialists by 2025 to meet rising global demand in the wind energy sector.
