Capital Dynamics has secured £48.5 million in funding for its first onshore wind investments in Scotland, which will have a combined capacity of 193MW.
The financing comes from Border to Coast Pensions Partnership, the largest Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) pool, marking the first commitment under Border to Coast's UK Opportunities portfolio.
Joe McDonnell, Chief Investment Officer at Border to Coast, highlighted the importance of financing the construction of new infrastructure to help the UK reduce its reliance on oil and gas and meet its net-zero targets.
He expressed confidence that Capital Dynamics offers a strong investment opportunity while also having a significant impact on the renewable energy infrastructure pipeline.
Barney Coles, Co-head of Capital Dynamics Clean Energy, welcomed the partnership, noting that it will contribute to the UK's transition to a net-zero energy system, while also delivering attractive, risk-adjusted returns and positive local impacts.
Capital Dynamics' Clean Energy UK Fund focuses on renewable energy projects, primarily onshore wind and solar, and secures long-term, fixed-price power purchase agreements (PPAs) for stable returns and strong downside protection.
