German solar energy provider hep global GmbH, operating under the hep solar brand, has entered into a partnership with municipal utility Stadtwerke Stuttgart to develop solar power projects totaling up to 200 MWp.
The planned installations will be located near Stuttgart, contributing to the city's goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2035.
As part of the collaboration, hep solar will lead the project development, while Stadtwerke Stuttgart will handle financing, electricity marketing, and operation of the solar parks.
Once completed, the projects are expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 88,000 tonnes annually and generate enough electricity to power approximately 65,000 average German households.
Based in Gueglingen, hep solar specializes in the development, construction, operation, and financing of solar parks, with a focus on Germany, Japan, and North America.
The company currently has a pipeline of 90 projects in Germany alone, totaling around 1 GWp of capacity.
