Tata Power Co. Ltd, a leading Indian electric utility, has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Noida International Airport (NIA) to supply wind and solar energy, marking a significant step in supporting the airport's sustainable energy goals.
As part of the deal, Tata Power will invest over INR 5.5 billion (USD 59.2 million/EUR 55.3 million) in the development of renewable energy projects and smart energy infrastructure at the airport.
Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, will provide electricity from 10.8 MW of wind power capacity owned by Tata Power Renewable Energy.
In addition, TPTCL will develop, build, operate, and maintain a 13 MW solar park to generate power for the airport. The investments will also go toward critical dry utilities and infrastructure needed for smart energy solutions.
The agreement underlines Tata Power's commitment to sustainable energy and its potential to set a green model for India's airport industry.
The company will also oversee the operation and maintenance of these facilities for 25 years, ensuring long-term support for NIA's renewable energy needs.
