Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., has secured Contracts for Difference (CfD) for three UK-based solar projects totaling 120 MWp in the country's latest CfD auction.
The contracts guarantee Recurrent Energy fixed revenues, adjusted for inflation, over a 15-year period.
The awarded projects include the 49.9-MWp Gateley Moor solar farm in Durham, the 49.9-MWp Hessay project in York, and the 20-MW Court Barton project in Devon.
Once operational, these photovoltaic farms will collectively supply electricity to over 34,000 homes each year, preventing approximately 31,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
Recurrent Energy plans to commission the projects in stages, starting with Court Barton in mid-2025, followed by Hessay in mid-2026 and Gateley Moor in mid-2027.
The UK's sixth CfD renewables auction, announced in September, awarded contracts for a total of 9,648.26 MW of capacity.
