EDP – Energias de Portugal SA has acquired 44.3 MWp of solar distributed generation parks in Brazil from Grupo Tangipar in a deal worth BRL 218 million (USD 37.5 million / EUR 35 million).
The acquisition includes 16 solar assets spread across the states of Bahia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Parana.
Of these, five solar parks are already operational, while the remaining 11 are under construction, with completion scheduled for 2025. These projects will provide power to low-voltage customers.
This move brings EDP closer to its goal of reaching 500 MWp of installed capacity in Brazil by 2026. The company currently has 258 MWp in total. The deal is still pending approval from Brazil's antitrust regulator, CADE.
