Engie has awarded contracts for the construction of its first onshore solar projects in Ireland, with Engie Astatine and TLI Group selected as partners.

Located in Galway and Limerick, these solar farms—Ardnadoman, Dromsallagh, and Rooaun—will deliver a total installed capacity of 18MWp, generating enough clean energy to power approximately 12,000 homes.

These sites are part of six solar projects, totaling 60MWp, awarded under Ireland’s Renewable Energy Support Scheme (RESS) 3 auction in 2023.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2025, with commissioning anticipated in the second half of that year.

Engie will also establish a community benefit fund for each site, contributing €34,000 annually to support local initiatives. This investment reflects Engie’s broader commitment to sustainable energy development in Ireland.
