UK-based Cubico Sustainable Investments has unveiled plans to build a 100MW wind park near its existing Scout Moor wind farm in North West England, marking the largest onshore wind development in the country in over a decade.
The project, Scout Moor II, will be situated between Edenfield, Rawtenstall, and Rochdale, and is expected to power over 100,000 homes, meeting approximately 10% of Greater Manchester's residential energy needs.
Cubico has opened public consultations for Scout Moor II ahead of the planning permit process. With an estimated investment of £500 million, the project underscores Cubico's commitment to expanding the UK's renewable capacity.
The company currently operates over 250MW of wind and solar assets across the UK and has earmarked an additional £300 million for green energy projects in the coming years.
Scout Moor II is anticipated to be operational before 2030, reinforcing Cubico's role in advancing England's renewable energy transition.
