Acciona Energia has strengthened its renewable energy assets in the United States with the acquisition of two wind farms in Texas totaling 300 MW.
The company purchased the Green Pastures 1 and Green Pastures 2 wind farms, each with a capacity of 150 MW, located in Baylor and Knox Counties in north-central Texas. The fully operational assets were acquired for $202.5 million from various private asset management entities.
Both wind farms are connected to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid, a major electricity network that supports 90% of Texas's power and is recognized for its progressive renewable energy integration.
The Green Pastures facilities now join Acciona Energia's North American portfolio, which had 2.8 GW of installed renewable capacity prior to this acquisition.
This expansion aligns with Acciona's broader strategy of geographical diversification and optimizes its energy generation fleet across North America. The company continues to focus on enhancing its presence in the US market, leveraging ERCOT's advanced renewable infrastructure.
