Spanish fashion giant Inditex has opened public consultation on its 19.8-MW wind energy project, aiming to power operations and nearby consumers in Galicia.
Inditex submitted its permit applications for consent, construction, and environmental assessment to install three Siemens Gamesa SG 6.6-MW wind turbines at the A Coruna Port's outer harbour. The turbines are projected to produce approximately 52,368 MWh per year.
The total project budget stands at EUR 21.7 million (USD 23.5 million), including EUR 17.5 million for wind farm construction and associated expenses for expanding the Inditex substation and establishing an underground high-voltage line.
Expected to complete in 12 months, this initiative forms part of a collective self-consumption model designed to supply nearby users and Inditex's Arteixo headquarters.
This project marks a significant step for Inditex Renovables, the renewable energy arm established in 2021 to drive the company's clean energy objectives.
