and have joined forces once again to take on six Spanish wind farms, worth a staggering 200MW in total. To achieve this impressive feat, Siemens Gamesa will be supplying 40 SG 5.0-145 turbines. But the deal doesn't stop there – the two companies have also agreed on the maintenance of these six wind farms for a period of five years.

The first of these contracts, which is part of Repsol's Pi project, includes four wind farms in the province of Palencia. These four farms will make use of 28 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 140MW. Meanwhile, the second contract will involve the installation of two wind farms in the province of Zaragoza as part of Repsol's Delta II project. This time, 12 onshore turbines with a total output of 60MW will be installed.

Thanks to this new deal, Repsol's collection of wind farms employing Siemens Gamesa technology will now include eight sites with a total output of 324MW. This news has been met with great excitement from Kerman Gabiola, Managing Director of Siemens Gamesa in . He said: “This important agreement reached with Repsol allows us to strengthen our relationship with one of the most committed companies in Spain with renewable energies and supports the necessary boost to the sector in our country.”

Enrique Pedrosa, COO for Europe and Latam at Repsol Low Carbon Generation, echoed this enthusiasm, adding: “This new agreement with Siemens Gamesa allows us to continue progressing towards our ambitious goal of reaching 6GW of installed renewable capacity by 2025 and 20GW by 2030. Renewable energies are key to Repsol's decarbonisation strategy, which has set itself the challenge of becoming zero net emissions by 2050.”
