A fund established by German investment firms Pacifico Energy Partners, Union Investment, and Volksbank Mittelhessen has made its inaugural investment by acquiring a majority stake in a repowering wind project in Saxony-Anhalt, featuring a capacity of approximately 12.6 MW.

The investment is part of the Energy Invest Mittelhessen Fund, which aims for a target volume of up to EUR 150 million (USD 162 million).

The repowering project includes three wind turbines of the E-138 series. Once completed in 2025, the wind farm is expected to generate sufficient clean to power over 10,000 households.

This initiative in Saxony-Anhalt is the first of several planned investments by the fund in projects that are either construction-ready or already operational, according to a press statement.
