Swedish renewables developer OX2 AB announced on Thursday that it has secured an asset management agreement for the 211-MW Piiparinmaki wind farm in Finland from Nuveen Infrastructure, previously known as Glennmont Partners. Nuveen is the private infrastructure investment unit of asset manager Nuveen.
Under the agreement, OX2, now owned by private equity investor EQT, will oversee the technical, commercial, and financial management of the 41-turbine facility, which was constructed by Finnish renewable energy company Ilmatar Energy Oy and inaugurated in 2022. The wind farm has an annual generation capacity of approximately 700 GWh.
This contract enhances OX2's collaboration with Nuveen Infrastructure, bringing the total number of assets managed by OX2 in this partnership to 20.
Overall, OX2 manages 1,090 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 5.5 GW. In addition to wind farms, the company is also involved in the management of solar farms and energy storage systems.
