Scout Clean Energy has announced a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) to supply electricity from its 147.5-MW Gonzaga Ridge wind project, which is currently under construction in Merced County, California.
Once operational, the Gonzaga Ridge wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to serve approximately 385,000 customers enrolled in SFPUC's CleanPowerSF program.
The contract also includes a 50-MW energy storage component, enhancing the project's capacity to deliver reliable power.
The wind turbine complex represents a redevelopment of an existing wind farm located in Pacheco Park and is scheduled to commence operations in May 2026.
This project will become the largest single source of wind energy for the CleanPowerSF program, which already has contracts in place for over 600 MW of new solar, wind, and geothermal energy projects.
