Orlen Group Expands Renewable Portfolio with Acquisition of Solar and Wind Farms in Poland

Group has finalized an agreement with EDP Renewables Polska to acquire two farms and a wind farm in , adding over 300MW of capacity to its portfolio.

This acquisition increases Orlen's renewable energy capacity by nearly one-third, bringing its total installed capacity to approximately 580MW in wind and over 350MW in solar projects.

The solar farms are located in the Zielona Gora and Poznan provinces, while the wind farm is situated in Lodz. The first solar farm in Chotkow, Zielona Gora, has a capacity of 40MW and became operational in January 2024.

The second solar project, located in the Przykona municipality in Poznan, currently has a 200MW capacity and is being expanded by an additional 40MW, with completion expected by the end of the year.

Orlen also acquired the 26MW Warta wind farm in Lodz, which was commissioned in May 2023. Positioned in a high-wind area, the site ensures efficient use of its installed capacity.

This acquisition further strengthens Orlen's role in Poland's renewable energy sector, as the company continues to pursue its clean energy expansion strategy.
