Ocean Winds and Eletrobras Partner to Develop Offshore Wind Projects in Brazil

has formalized a partnership with to advance wind projects in , marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

This collaboration aligns with Brazil's renewable energy and economic development objectives, combining Ocean Winds' expertise in offshore wind with Eletrobras' leadership in 's energy sector.

Leonardo Soares Walter, M&A and business development director for Eletrobras, emphasized the company's commitment to clean energy, stating, “97% of the energy we generate is already from renewable sources, and we are on track to reach 100% as we transition away from thermal power. This partnership will help ensure a cleaner energy future for Brazil and contribute to global decarbonization efforts.”

Rafael Munilla, chief business development officer at Ocean Winds, added, “We are excited to partner with Eletrobras to tap into Brazil's wind resources, not only to advance the country's sustainable energy future but also to foster job creation and community development.”

This partnership represents a strategic step towards Brazil's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2030, while contributing to the global energy transition.
