Petrobras has entered into an agreement with Vale to supply diesel with renewable content, marking a significant step in both companies' efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The deal, announced on Friday, may extend to include other low-carbon fuels in the future.
Initially, Petrobras will provide diesel with renewable content for Vale's trucks and locomotives. The agreement could later expand to cover marine fuel with 24% renewable content and natural gas.
Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard praised the deal, stating, “The partnership with Vale is yet another achievement for Petrobras in its goal of improving its production capacity and logistics structure to supply greener products to the market.”
Vale's new CEO, Gustavo Pimenta, highlighted the importance of the collaboration for both companies. “We are very happy to announce this broad partnership with Petrobras, which brings benefits to both companies and creates value for Brazil,” Pimenta said.
