Redeux Energy Partners LLC has completed the sale of a hybrid solar-plus-storage project in Western Kentucky to Scout Clean Energy, a portfolio company managed by Brookfield Asset Management.
The project includes 200 MW of solar PV capacity and a 40-MW/160-MWh battery energy storage system. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Redeux was built to originate and deliver world-class renewable energy projects to industry-leading partners,” said Aaron Bowlds, managing director of Thoroughbred, Redeux's founding sponsor. He added that the sale “perfectly aligns” with that vision.
The hybrid project, which will offer four hours of energy storage, is located near a coal-fired power station and will connect to a MISO transmission switchyard adjacent to the 400-MW plant.
Redeux, with a pipeline of 7 GW of solar and 7 GWh of storage projects, plans to bring another portfolio to market in early 2025.
